MCF10DCIS.com is a clonal breast cancer cell line. Pre-malignant MCF10AT cells were injected into severe combined immunodeficient (SCID) mice, resulting in tumor growth. The DCIS.com line was cloned from cell culture of this xenograft. Injection of the MCF10DCIS.com cells into SCID mice results in rapidly growing lesions that are predominantly comedo DCIS.
The tumor mass of these tumors is composed of tightly packed tubular structures, many with central necrosis.
